WHAT’S NEW?

The new double diamond rulers have arrived.  The price is $21.95 and the sizes are 1-1/2” and 3-1/2”.  The fun and done ruler is a neat new product designed for those overwhelming scraps and a quick quilt to have and use without taking it to the longarmer.  We’re not trying to cut Dusty out here but.......???

We have a BOM beginning in January.  It is called “Blessings” by Pearl Louise Krush and there is a sample hanging in the Shop. We have the patterns at $5.00 each or the entire year can be purchased for $60.00. We also are carrying the kits each month, you can choose to pay by the month $20.00 for the first month and $10.00 for each month thereafter or purchase the kit upfront. The cost of the kit is $130 it includes the pattern and all fabric except the backing. Finished quilt size is 53" x 61". The fabric that was used is designed by Pearl Krush as well as the pattern. She designed "Tuscany Square" for Riverwoods by Troy. Buy your kit upfront and receive free backing.

We will be doing a Civil War BOM beginning in April or May.  We will get the details on this BOM to you in the near future.  I believe I will be designing something myself as I haven’t run across anything I just can’t live without. In the meantime, we have approximately 400  bolts of 1800 reproduction fabric and if you haven’t been in lately, you really need to come check them out.

       RETREATS

As you know, the Shop is available for retreat weekends.  If you are interested, give us a call and we’ll fill you in with the details. We are available almost every weekend and are here at your beck and call. Also, the price is right - or so we’ve been told. Please check out our website for a boat load of details. We have had several groups now and they all say the two best things about it are the food and shopping in their jammies........it’s a quilter’s dream come true.

                                                      CLASSES

Itsy Bitsy

For those of you who came to the last Itsy Bitsy you know what I'm talking about when I say we had a terrific time. It went so well that next month we will be doing it again. There will be  a morning and an afternoon session this time so we aren't so cramped for space. The project we will be making   is a 9 - Patch Star. The blocks are 3" and the quilt will finish approx. 14" x 17". As soon as I have a picture available I will post it on our web site under a new tab called Itsy Bitsy. You wll also be able to check out the past months projects there.
Please e-mail me and let me know if morning or afternoon will be better for you. The cost for the class will be $1.00 to cover materials. As soon as I know you are planning to attend I will send you the fabric requirements and cutting instructions for the quilt.

We are taking a sabbatical from classes for awhile.  However, if you see something in the Shop or if there is something else you would like to learn to make, just ask and we will schedule a class one-on-one or bring a friend or two.

REMINDERS

Tuesday night group will meet the first and third Tuesday of each month from 6:00-8:00 p.m. There is no charge for this and our next get together will be March 30.  Please let us know if you can make it.  If we don’t hear from anyone, we will close the shop at the usual time.

Don’t forget about the lending library.  There’s something for everyone here, so think twice before you purchase another book or pattern as it may be a good idea to browse through our library first.  Of course donations are welcome and certainly appreciated.

At your request, we will host guild/sewing group night out at the Shop.  If your group is interested in a little field trip, let us know.

A number of services are available to you through the Shop:

1.  If there is something that you want and can’t seem to find, let us know and we will do our best to order it in for you.

2.  For a small fee we’ll gladly cut strips, squares, etc., for you on the Acu Cut.

3.  We sell and service new and pre-owned sewing and embroidery machines.

4.  Would you just love to own a one of a kind quilt?  We can work together and design one for you.

5.  Remember ladies, if you love to quilt but find yourselves tied up making more things for your friends and family than for yourselves, we here at Country Stitchin would love to relieve you of that burden.  Simply tell your friends or family members to stop by and we will be happy to design whatever it is they would like to have made in the fabrics of their choice for a reasonable price.  Estimates are free and itemized.

It’s time you made your life a little easier - stop in and ask about our services.

WHAT”S NEW
I guess I went a little crazy when I ordered fabric, so the projects are rolling out ladies.

Big Daddy says I can order anything I want as long as I sell it. I’m working on some new designs, along with another booklet for Blank Quilting. Dusty is working on designing some fabric. I never figured Dusty for a fabric designer but who knows??  We will just have to wait and see. He is officially a Nolting Sales Rep. now so if anyone is in the market for a longarm, come on in and Dusty will show you what Nolting has to offer.

Sale

As you all know quilting season is upon us and Dusty and I will be out of town from 3/18-3/29. Have no fear our trusted friends and fellow quilters will be here to take care of all your quilting needs. There is a table sitting near the cutting area full of items that are 50% off. Also we have an entire rack of $5.00/Yd. fabric. Please feel free to bring any quilts in and drop them off to the girls while we are out and Dusty will give you a call when we get back. Dusty will be at Cabin Branch Quilt show in VA and I will be at the Ross Township community center this weekend. We will both be in Lancaster the following week so if you are out and about we hope to see you. The new Kansas Troubles Butterfly Garden fabrics are here and its moving fast. Also many new In The Beginnings Fabrics.

Thank you all for your continued support,
*** Remember, the first Tuesday of each month is Senior Citizens’ Day.  Anyone 65 or older will receive a 10% discount off their entire order.  This will be combined with any discount you receive as a guild member. ***

Sometimes we forget things, so please remind us about your discount so that you get the best deal possible.

Also please check our website often as we are always changing and updating. The latest about the shop hops and shows will be posted along with  any store closings due to weather, holidays or Shows.

TIPS

1.  After washing, spray fabric with starch while ironing to replace sizing.  Makes it easier to get that accurate seam.

2.  When pressing blocks or seams while piecing, don’t “iron” but actually “press”.

3.   When pressing a block with many points meeting at the center, trim and fan the joining seam allowances out.  Spritz with a few drops of water and press.  This will help the center to lay flat.

We can’t tell you good folks enough how much we appreciate your support.  You were there for us in 2009 and we will be here to serve all your quilting needs in 2010.  We’re always glad to see you, so stop in and check out the new fabric and kits we’ve put together for you.  Who knows, you may see something you just “have to have” to ring the new year in with a bang...................so see you soon ladies and let’s continue to create those memories, one stitch at a time...................

From all of us to all of you,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

See you soon,

Stephanie
