Hello Everyone,
Well, once again, Fall is upon us. The Crawford County Fair is just around the bend. If you are interested in entering anything in the Fair, entries will be taken at the home show building Friday, Aug. 20, 3:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 21, 8:00-11:00 a.m. Then, the next thing on the calendar is the beginning of school........wooohooo! That means some well deserved quilting time for all of us!
We have a couple of things going on this coming week beginning Wednesday the 18th thru Saturday the 21st. For any of you who don't quilt but enjoy quilts, or anyone who needs a gift etc., we will be having a sample sale. What's a sample sale? A sample sale is when we sell our sample projects at super reasonable prices because they are stacking up all around us. All the samples upstairs are marked and we'll take an additional 20% off the ticketed price. We have it all - quilts, baby quilts, wallhangings, tabletoppers, tablerunners, purses, totes and more.
WHAT’S NEW
We will be doing a Civil War BOM The pattern is Vintage Memories by This n That
Its a great pattern and Ellie did a fabulous job with the sample. Thank you Ellie. We will be starting the new BOM in August. We have made kits in three colors ways so if your interested please stop in and choose what color way best suites you.
Retreats
Anyone who wants to book a retreat should do it now. We are closing the retreats January 1st. Anyone who schedules for December will be able to book for $75 per person, minimum of 6 people. We love hosting the retreats - they've been a lot of fun and we've made some wonderful new friends, but, unfortunately, all good things must end. Dusty's quilting career and my designing is keeping us very busy and something has to give. We've decided to turn the upstairs into a quilting studio and sell longarm supplies. We will convert the present quilting room to a fabric room for discount fabrics. These will be quilt shop quality fabrics that are closeouts. Prices will vary from $5 to $7 a yard. Our goal is to keep everyone quilting.
After the first of the year, we will also have a new pricing scale so it will be more economical for you to have your quilts quilted. Of course Dusty will still offer his award winning quilting on any and all of your projects, but the simpler edge to edge stuff will have a new pricing scale to meet the needs of everyone.
The best things about it are the food and shopping in their jammies........it’s a quilter’s dream come true.
Itsy Bitsy
For those of you who came to the last Itsy Bitsy you know what I'm talking about when I say we had a terrific time. Itsy Bitsy will be Saturday Aug.4th from 10 A.M. - 12 P.M. The project we will be making Square in a square. The blocks are 21/4 " and the quilt will finish approx. 14" x 14". As soon as I have a picture available I will post it on our web site under a new tab called Itsy Bitsy. You wll also be able to check out the past months projects there.
Please e-mail me and let me know if morning or afternoon will be better for you. The cost for the class will be $1.00 to cover materials. As soon as I know you are planning to attend I will send you the fabric requirements and cutting instructions for the quilt.
Visit our website to also find links to free patterns you can download.

Tuesday night group will meet the first and third Tuesday of each month from 6:00-8:00 p.m. There is no charge for this and our next get together will be September 7th. Please let us know if you can make it. If we don’t hear from anyone, we will close the shop at the usual time.
At your request, we will host guild/sewing group night out at the Shop. If your group is interested in a little field trip, let us know.
A number of services are available to you through the Shop:
1. If there is something that you want and can’t seem to find, let us know and we will do our best to order it in for you.
2. Would you just love to own a one of a kind quilt? We can work together and design one for you.
5. Remember ladies, if you love to quilt but find yourselves tied up making more things for your friends and family than for yourselves, we here at Country Stitchin would love to relieve you of that burden. Simply tell your friends or family members to stop by and we will be happy to design whatever it is they would like to have made in the fabrics of their choice for a reasonable price. WHAT”S NEW
I guess I went a little crazy when I ordered fabric, so the projects are rolling out ladies.
Big Daddy says I can order anything I want as long as I sell it. I’m working on some new designs.
Sale
Also, there is the 50% off section of items which are great for secret sister gifts, stocking stuffers or because you just want it. (Did I say "want"? I meant "need"). Buy any two yards of fabric at regular price and get a yard of your choice off the $5 rack free. The bolts on the five dollar rack are wonderful fabrics but they've been here long enough and need to find a forever home so we have room for new fabric. It's great for backings or just to build your stash.
Thank you all for your continued support,
*** Remember, the first Tuesday of each month is Senior Citizens’ Day. Anyone 65 or older will receive a 10% discount off their entire order. This will be combined with any discount you receive as a guild member. ***
Sometimes we forget things, so please remind us about your discount so that you get the best deal possible.
Also please check our website often as we are always changing and updating. The latest about the shop hops and shows will be posted along with any store closings due to weather, holidays or Shows.
TIPS
1. After washing, spray fabric with starch while ironing to replace sizing. Makes it easier to get that accurate seam.
2. When pressing blocks or seams while piecing, don’t “iron” but actually “press”.
3. When pressing a block with many points meeting at the center, trim and fan the joining seam allowances out. Spritz with a few drops of water and press. This will help the center to lay flat.
We can’t tell you good folks enough how much we appreciate your support. We’re always glad to see you, so stop in and check out the new fabric and kits we’ve put together for you. Who knows, you may see something you just “have to have” ........so see you soon ladies and let’s continue to create those memories, one stitch at a time...................
See you soon,
Stephanie
